Beyonce, Hudson win Image Awards
LOS ANGELES It was a dreamy night for a couple of "Dreamgirls." Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson both glided away with trophies Thursday and wowed the audience with individual performances during the 40th annual NAACP Image Awards.
Beyonce, who opened the show with a wind-swept rendition of her song "Halo," won the female artist category while Hudson, who performed "The Impossible Dream" for President’s Award recipient Muhammad Ali, picked up the new artist award. They costarred in the 2006 film "Dreamgirls."
"This is where we come from," Hudson said, accepting the trophy. "So it’s always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love. I really cher... |
Eminem, 50 Cent & Dr. Dre "Crack" Kelly Clarkson
Eminem, with assists from high-powered pals 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, has landed at No. 1 on the charts and in the record books with his latest single, "Crack the Bottle."
The track was (legally) downloaded a record 418,000 times in its first week and easily bounced Kelly Clarkson’s "My Life Would Suck Without You" from the top slot on Billboard’s Hot 100.
It marks his second No. 1, after 2002’s "Lose Yourself." For Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, it’s trips three and four, respectively.
"Crack the Bottle" is the lead single from Em’s forthcoming Relapse album, but it’s also likely to appear on Fiddy’s own Before I Self Destruct, out next month, and Dre&rsq... |
Miley, Taylor, Selena & Demis Sonny Night Together
Los Angeles (E! Online) Oh, the Jonas Brothers’ ears must have been ringing on Grammy night.
And it wasn’t because of all that music at the Staples Center.
After the big awards show in downtown L.A., new besties and performance partners Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift headed uptown to meet up with Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato at the Improv comedy club, where Lovato was hosting a screening party for the premiere of her new Disney Channel series Sonny With a Chance.
So what do these four do when they get together?
Oh, nothing too crazy.
Cyrus and Swift made a beeline for Gomez and Lovato’s table when they arrived at about 7:45 p.m. "The girls all hung toget... |
Idol Closes in on Being a Singing Competition
Los Angeles (E! Online) The theatrics behind them, the 72 remaining American Idol hopefuls filed in one by one to sing what they hoped would not be their final solos for the discerning ears of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson.
The judges didn’t have much to say on Tuesday’s episode, probably because the performances and the lyric flubs, meltdowns and flameouts sang for themselves.
Actually, forgetting the words didn’t end up hurting those who had already proved their musical mettle, such as record label castoff Joanna Pacitti; Stephen Fowler, who even messed up his do over and just walked off the stage dejectedly; and Casey Carlson, who may... |
Madonna and Moore Teaming Up Again for Oscars
Los Angeles (E! Online) Move over, Vanity Fair.
Madonna and Demi Moore are on their way of becoming the new queens of Oscar night.
I just got word that the two Hollywood sirens will, as they did last year, cohost a party with Guy Oseary at Oseary’s L.A. area home after this year’s awards ceremony on Feb. 22.
Among the guests at last year’s soiree were Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Cameron Diaz, Orlando Bloom and even Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, who made their way there after hosting their annual AIDS fundraiser.
Madonna and Moore’s guest list will again be invite only. Hopefully, Moore and hubby Ashton Kut... |
