Eminem, 50 Cent & Dr. Dre "Crack" Kelly Clarkson
Eminem, with assists from high-powered pals 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, has landed at No. 1 on the charts and in the record books with his latest single, "Crack the Bottle." The track was (legally) downloaded a record 418,000 times in its first week and easily bounced Kelly Clarkson’s "My Life Would Suck Without You" from the top slot on Billboard’s Hot 100. It marks his second No. 1, after 2002’s "Lose Yourself." For Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, it’s trips three and four, respectively. "Crack the Bottle" is the lead single from Em’s forthcoming Relapse album, but it’s also likely to appear on Fiddy’s own Before I Self Destruct, out next month, and Dre&rsq...
Idol Closes in on Being a Singing Competition
Los Angeles (E! Online) The theatrics behind them, the 72 remaining American Idol hopefuls filed in one by one to sing what they hoped would not be their final solos for the discerning ears of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. The judges didn’t have much to say on Tuesday’s episode, probably because the performances and the lyric flubs, meltdowns and flameouts sang for themselves. Actually, forgetting the words didn’t end up hurting those who had already proved their musical mettle, such as record label castoff Joanna Pacitti; Stephen Fowler, who even messed up his do over and just walked off the stage dejectedly; and Casey Carlson, who may...
Britney, K-Fed and the Kids Ready to Hit the Road
Los Angeles (E! Online) Turns out, Britney Spears’ upcoming tour is a going to be a kid friendly one after all. Particularly for her kids. A week after the pop star’s premature proclamation that sons Sean Preston and Jayden James would be joining her for her North American road trip and less than a week after Kevin Federline’s attorney said otherwise E! News has confirmed that a deal has, at last, been made for the Federtots to join their mother for Circus time. Federline and Spears have hashed out a custody deal for their road tripping, which will more or less mirror the terms of their current arrangement. K-Fed attorney Mark Kaplan tells E! that all necessary p...

India.Arie refreshes her soul on new CD
NEW YORK When India.Arie debuted in 2001 with "Acoustic Soul," a CD brimming with messages about self-worth, inner-beauty and positivity, she was seen by many as a strong, self-assured musician who was impervious to the more vain and superficial pitfalls of celebrity. Not really. The 33-year-old singer says people misinterpreted her image as a "role model" and she struggled with her own insecurities. She’s taking a new approach with her fourth studio CD, "Testimony, Vol. 2: Love & Politics," released this week. The Grammy-winner hopes to expand outside the R&B/soul genre to a more world music sound with her new disc. She traveled alone to Hawaii for 10 days to refresh ...
